Cat Allergies - Do you have a cat allergy?
Discover how to fight cat allergens
When you’re allergic to anything, it’s only sane and rational to reduce your exposure to that thing that causes your allergies. On the other hand if you’re a cat-lover like me, you could not be any farther from being sane and rational. It’s lucky then that the symptoms of cat allergies are pretty much manageable, but they might never go away completely. First, remember the fundamentals about cat allergens. They are mostly carried by air, so that means we have to breathe them in initially before they can trigger any of the cat allergy symptoms. Cat allergens are very small, microscopic even, and in size to pollens or mold spores, the two other most obvious allergens that are airborne. That means they remain hanging in the air for a longer time and they can go up into your nose easier. If you keep a cat around, the rate of recontamination goes larger. As the cat walks through our homes, it gives off dander and proteins from its saliva and urine, which increases the level of cat allergens in our house even more and therefore causing you to get cat allergies . To combat cat urine problems, try this product. Another 'must read' for all asthma sufferes is a book by Paresh Jivanji who has helped many sufferes. There are some very impressive testimonials on his website here.
Anyway, below are some steps you can attempt to cut down cat allergens in our homes and, in that event, cut down your cat allergies as well:
Step 1: Do not let cats sleep on your bed.
As you are probably aware, this is actually a very minimal price to pay. Think about painfull eyes, , blocked nose, difficulty breathing, rashes, swelling, and you’ll agree that not allowing the cat in your bed is not that . After all, when we suffer from cat allergies but still persist on owning a cat, we have to realise that there is several things that we must give up to achieve a balance between your health and our love for the cat.
Step 2: Keep the bedroom cat free.
Once again, let's face it, this is still a really minute price to pay. for allergy relief.
